(More customer reviews)Back in the dinosaur age, I had the opportunity to work with all the major wordprocessors. Microsoft Word/Works was a new player into field against WordPerfect, and Lotus, and others. Being able to work with all available allowed for the opportunity to pick the one that was the best, the most USER FRIENDLY, and most intuitive about how people worked and typed. Back then it was WordPerfect for DOS, and now, it still is WordPerfect in my opinion.
IF I had to refer to a user manual or take a course on how to use a software product back then, it was NOT user friendly and/or user intuitive, and went straight into the trash.
In the past, I was a terrible typist, and now, years later, I am still a terrible typist with LOTS of typing experience! The beauty of wordprocessing is that I don't have to become a professional typist to use a wordprocessor. And I don't have to get or pay someone to type my term papers or other documents. I don't have to white-out any mistakes and re-type corrections. I just backspace, and delete and re-type my corrections. A document is no-longer a fixed item that requires re-typing every time you want to add, delete, or , otherwise change something. It is a work-in-progress until you are satisfied with the results. Wordprocessing has allowed me to become the writer that sits inside waiting for the opportunity to express itself without all the frustrations.
The advantage of a suite of software that can share information is the ability to incorporate into the wordprocessor, appropriate additional types of information, such as pictures or graphics, spreadsheets, or database information, and other stuff as needed. With the publication of the first WordPderfect Office Suite, all this became possible, and with the same ease of use and user friendliness that I had learned to expect from the my original experiences with WordPerfect 6 for DOS, and every WordPerfect product I have used since that first fortuitous opportunity to try and play with all the available products of the day over 20 years ago.
Even today, with all the added bells-n-whistles, I can still use a WordPerfect product right out of the box without having to read a user manual, or take a training course on it. I still whole-heartedly recommend WordPerfect's Suite of software products, and invite you to try and compare against whatever came bundled with your computer system. I am sure you won't be unhappy with your decision to switch to a better, easier to use and more user-friendly suite (unless of course, you are already using Corel/WordPerfect products, LOL, and then it is a moot isue!).
