(More customer reviews)UPDATE: I just wanted to quickly update this review and let people know that we are using QuickBooks Plus version online.
I'm not the kind of guy that reviews products too often. But, I have such a love hate relationship with QBO that I feel like I have to let people know what they're getting into.
First, the product is really good in so many ways. I created a partnership about 18 months ago. We work in separate locations and we are able to track our hours not only by employee, but by the location as well. This is great. I love that wherever I am working, I have access to all of my client info and I'm able to put in time just about anytime I need to. I even created and sent an invoice from my iphone when I was sitting in a clients office. That is great. But, we're a design studio and there are a few things that just don't work and they seem like they would be so easy to fix. Here they are...
1. Create a timer for tracking time. Come on, this is basic stuff these days.
2. When tracking jobs, have a place to put in a PO# or Job # - Sub Accounts is the dumbest way possible to track all of the jobs that we do on a daily basis for multiple clients.
3. Give us the option to not have QBO log us out!!!! This is a big one for us. I must login 20 times a day. I'm at home in my office and I should have the choice of whether or not I get logged out.
4. Time tracking on the iphone or smartphones. Again, it seems like others are doing this with no problem.
5. How about a widget for time tracking? Something that makes tracking, editing and submitting time easy without the constant logouts.
Again, I hate to complain about QBO. It really is so good but some of these items seem so basic and no brainers and they just refuse to incorporate them. You have to pay for a third party solution to track time and expenses easily. For those of you who feel the same way I do about this, checkout [...] - they have picked up very nicely where QBO has dropped the ball. But I just don't think I should have to pay another vendor for something that should be part of the package.
One more good thing about QBO - they are constantly updating the software. So, they are always trying to make it better. It's changed a lot in the 1 year that we've been customers. That gives me hope that these things will be eventually added or updated. At least I can hope....
