(More customer reviews)I had seen the ads in Shutterbug magaizine for months and was intrigued but dubious. Having a notion to give the free trial download a try I was quickly drawn to the ease of seeing the result of the application. At first the portrait adjustments were, in my opinion, much too extreme and fairly unrealistic. There is a learning curve as with all software. Biggest tip I could offer new users is to adopt the "less is more" philosophy when applying corrections. I have discovered that you can take an otherwise mediocre portrait and turn it into a more pleasing professional looking portrait within a matter of minutes. I have no experience with Photoshop as yet and have been using Lightroom2 as my file managment and editing software. Lightroom is a dandy program and I like it alot. I believe I must first learn the nuiances of Lightroom before I jump into the deep cold waters of Photoshop. And as Photoshop will most likely perform to all those other adjustments I might wish to make on a portrait, it seemed a bit far off in the future before my brain was ready to undertake such knowledge. Portrait Professional Studio 9 was/is the best new "touch-up" software to use bridging the gap between Lightroom and Photoshop. It works great! If you take pictures of people....get it, you will be glad you did. You can use the software as a "stand alone" program or you can use it as an editing option in Lightroom. After adjustment in Portrait Pro you can save the file/data as a tiff or jpeg. I would reccommend saving all to a tiff.
I give this amazing software five stars because it works, is very affordable, easy to learn, and it will help build your professional self esteem. Costs less than one thearpy session, not that I have ever been in therapy...got off topic, opps.
