(More customer reviews)I have had this game in a closet for a few months now. It is not compatible with either of the laptops in the house. My son has been nagging me to buy him a gaming computer so he can use it. You really have to look into the graphic card compatiblity before buying. The game itself may be OK, we'll probably never know and since my son ripped open the box I'll be stuck with it.

TRON: Evolution Review

(More customer reviews)Released on December 7th, 2010 Tron: Evolution became available to the general public ahead of the franchise's release of their second film, Tron: Legacy and is available on the following platforms, PC, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, Playstation 3 and Nintendo DS. Although the game does bridge several platforms this review will focus on the PC version available for Windows 7, Vista and XP compatible machines.
Tron: Evolution combines action mostly found in Martial Arts genres and widely successful racing games. With intricate button combinations the player battles computer engineered viruses bent on their destruction. As the game progresses you will be challenged in several different forms in order to navigate intricately laid out maps by using abilities such as running on walls, jumping from platform to platform, leaping over anti-gravity structures and avoiding deadly obstacles. After mastering the ability to navigate the map's obstacles you will be confronted by the evil viruses. Using your disc you will need to defeat them and the more you beat the more powerful you will become. Using the XP gained by your battles you will have the chance to upgrade your disc and abilities. With the control over vehicles the game takes an even more thrilling step towards greatness. Tanks and motorcycles will have your heart beating with excitement.
The gameplay is pretty fun but at times can be a little repetitive. The majority of your time will be spent on running and jumping various obstacles. The story is well laid out, explaining how and why you need to defeat the enemies and the characters sent to fight or aid you are well done as well. The voice overs are quite good and reflect the actors emotions and personalities from the films. Olivia Wilde's character is very good but a little more chubby from the actual actress.
The Graphics are very clean and bright but can be a little sparse at times. The games camera could have been better, on occasion it will go through walls leaving the player without the ability to see where they are going but it is controllable. I suggest using a controller(xbox or PS3) as keyboard controls can be difficult and clunky. There is little in the way of in-game sounds and no background music to entertain.
Overall the game is enjoyable and at the selling price it proves to be worth the money spent. A good game to play once but I doubt I will play it all the way through again. Multi-player is available but not included within this review.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Review

(More customer reviews)I didn't expect too much going into this game. I played the first Force Unleashed on the console, and while that game had some problems, it was still very fun at times. However, Force Unleashed 2 fails to fix the problems of the original, and introduces a host of new issues.
I think my main issue with this game was its length. Even playing the game on hard, with numerous restarts due to technical issues, and having to wait through the annoying, unskippable logo movies, the game still was over in just a few hours. It felt much shorter than the first game, and was not even worth the discounted [...] price. The gameplay, while still pretty fun at times, got very repetitive, simply because I tended to use the same tactic (grip object or stormtroopers, lightning, and throw) on practically every enemy in the game. The saber combat, another weak area of the first game, was not improved at all. I found myself using the same attack over and over again (slash, slash, lightning). The longer moves were easily blocked or interrupted, and I had to force myself to use them just for the sake of variety.
I also experienced a number of serious technical issues, from pre-rendered cut-scenes frequently failing to play, to crashes during loading, to completely broken physics where stormtroopers would float in mid-air like it was in zero-gravity. In addition, the game is capped at 30 frames per second, making everything feel a bit choppy. These problems seriously detracted from what would already have been a mediocre game.
All in all, I've found the Force Unleashed to be wholly inferior to Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy. It's proof that all the fancy technologies in the world like DMM, Euphoria, and Havok can't replace solid game mechanics and a strong story.

(More customer reviews)Make sure to disable your antivirus before downloading. I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials and it corrupted the first .cab of the download each time I tried to download. Finally, I disabled it and got a proper download on this try. It isn't the first time I've gotten a corrupted download on Amazon.com. Had the same problem with another game. So if you keep getting a corrupted download temporarily disable your antivirus suite while downloading it.
