(More customer reviews)SBS Essentials (SBSE) is primarily Windows Home Server with Active Directory support. There are a few other features, but it grew out of Aurora which was the upscale version of WHS. One thing it lacks is automatic update of computers in the network, but if you want a server with automatic backup, remote access and simplicity, this is easy.
NO, it doesn't have all the features of SBS 2011, but at half the cost, you must ask yourself what features are you looking for.
I demoed Aurora and worked with a temporary copy of SBSE and all I had to do was input the serial number and it became permanent. I did not have to reinstall. This was good because I should have been able to extend my demo copy but it did not work. Didn't matter, I had already made up my mind.
This is OEM. You cannot move it to another computer, so build well. I'm not sure why it is about $130 less than other versions except that it is OEM.
