(More customer reviews)I have tried out various sims, and I've found Lock On and Falcon 4 Allied Force to be the best sims for the money.
Get a TrackIR for these: it will greatly enhance the immersion: you won't feel like flying without it.
Pros:
1. Very realistic.
2. Beautifully detailed cockpit, and weapons system.
3. Flight performance is nicely modeled.
4. AI isn't dumb as a brick: you'll have to earn the kills.
5. Runs on older hardware.
Cons:
1. The menu user interface is slightly crummy.
2. Not available as a game download: you need the physical media.
3. Graphics aren't as good as IL2.
4. Minor glitches: on my setup, after landing if I am looking straight, it looks like the entire field is underwater. Looking slightly up makes the glitch go away.
This game is a lot of I highly recommend getting a copy for yourself and your friends.
