(More customer reviews)If you have a professional sound card, I bet this product works great out of the box. But getting this product to work well on a laptop with a good (but stock) sound card continues to be frustrating and is poorly documented, even though I have been multi-track recording since 1983, and I am a C++ programmer.
There are MANY alternatives for drivers and settings and no "best" configuration -- just many that don't work well or at all. I am confident I will get this working, but it is trial and error, and there appear to be many interactions between the sound card setup, OS setup, and software setup. I bet there are one or more configurations that will work, but I am still searching.
Best advice is to upgrade your sound card when you purchase this product. If you want something easy and off-the-shelf for use with a stock laptop, you are rolling the dice and may have lots of hours of frustration ahead.
