(More customer reviews)I actually used Quickbooks Pro 99 for 8 years. I have read many, many reviews on newer versions. From what I have read, and my experience with the '99 version, I have concluded that Quickbooks '99 was the "peak" for Quickbooks...and it has been downhill since. What I gather is that the newer versions work more slowely, pile on advertisements and charge more money. The reason that I will never get Quickbooks again is that I now know much more about accounting and I can only be satisfied with a real "double entry" accounting system (my favorite is Peachtree, but there are many other good ones, although not as inexpensive). If I was ever tempted to try Quickbooks again, I would pull out my old copy of '99 and use it on an older computer. But remember, Quickbooks takes all the data, no matter how many years you use it, and puts it on one gigantic data base. That is not a good design and it is one of the reasons large companies don't use (the regular consumer versions) quickbooks.

QuickBooks Pro has all features of QuickBooks 99 to run a small business plus a few more gems, such as multi-user possibilities and integration with Excel and Word.
