(More customer reviews)This is a worthwhile upgrade, especially for owners of FCE 1.x...there is not that much new here for users who own FCE 2.x, except for the HD video capabilities. I have started wondering whether I'm ready to use the features found in the "Pro" version -- and a little annoyed that some of the features in Express seem to be crippled merely to distinguish between FCE and FCPro. (A good example is being able to save a custom column layout in the Browser -- you can do it in Pro, and USED to be able to do it in FCE, but not any more!) I also want exportable/importable Edit Decision Lists (EDLs); most of the third party apps that work with Final Cut depend on reading and writing these XML-based lists to do their job. The best you can do with FCE and a third party logging product is produce a printed or on-screen EDL from the third-party product that you then use as a guide in FCE for editing. BUT, those are quibbles, and to be expected from a stripped-down version of a high end product. Overall, FCE delivers the goods, and provides a degree of control over projects that will be a revelation to iMovie owners patient enough to follow the learning curve.
