(More customer reviews)Generally speaking, this is the same old Pro Tools we've had since version 8.0 came out over a year ago. The software looks the same and functions about the same. However, Pro Tools 9 finally allows you to use ANY audio interface, as long as you have your iLok attached. No longer do you have to carry around an Mbox or a lot of extra gear.
Pro Tools 9 also has some new standard features, the headline being the inclusion of OMF/AAF import/export, MP3 option, and SMPTE Time Code ruler all being available without the need for expensive add-on toolkits. You also get DigiBase Pro, multi-track beat detective, and a slew of other previously HD-only features, like re-designed signal routing. There are also some overdue bug fixes that make the entire system run much smoother.
As with Pro Tools 8, this will not work on PPCs, and Pro Tools 9 requires OS 10.6 or later (or Vista/Win 7).
